About It’s the End, Pennie Wilson

It’s 2021, and Pennie Wilson is an autistic high school secretary living a solitary life with her cat in Morganton, North Carolina. She doesn’t know her neighbors, her brother lives in Seattle, and when the novel begins her parents have started a road trip out west despite a raging pandemic.

One day, everything grinds to a halt. There’s no power or cell service, and water follows shortly after. Pennie and her new friends at her apartment complex band together to survive what feels like the end.

“It's the End, Pennie Wilson” is a hyper local, character-driven novel about found families, coming into one’s own, and the tenuous relationship between survival and hope.
